The day to day business of Doylestown Meeting is handled at a monthly “meeting for business” where decisions are made through a careful process of listening to each other and seeking unity. We do not vote on questions, since that process can result in a dissatisfied minority unprepared to support the course of action chosen. Visitors are welcome to join us for meeting for business, which is generally held in the meetinghouse on the second Sunday of the month following meeting for worship.
The Religious Society of Friends is organized congregationally – that is, authority flows from the local meeting up through regional, national, and international Quaker bodies. These larger organizations enable us to share resources and increase our effectiveness in the world.
For more information about these larger organizations see the Resources page.
